Concordia is an alternative to Discord, with future support for Matrix.org. It uses it’s own network of servers for communication, while allowing the simultanious use of any Matrix server. It supports multiple identities and functions similarly to Matrix.
The goal of the application is for people to be able to have privacy more in control. The client doesn’t share any data to third parties, only communicates directly with every server under the identity it was connected with. Allowing you to either share an identity over multiple servers and people being able to recognize you, or using a seperate identity for each server making you less recognizable.
In the planned support for Matrix, you’ll be able to use a Concordia server as a Matrix server at the same time. Some features of Concordia though are dependent on the Concordia client, meaning that some functions won’t work for Matrix clients if joining a Concordia server. Communication though is supported fully. You’ll also be able to use your Concordia server as your homeserver. Your friends if allowed in settings can also use your server as their “home”.
